Hiring Adult & Child/Adolescent Psychologists

Lesley Hartman & Associates Inc. (LHA) is a well-established, highly respected private psychological practice based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. For nearly 20 years, we’ve provided high-quality psychological therapy, assessment, and mental health services to individuals across the lifespan, as well as to couples and families. 
We are a multi-disciplinary team, and a teaching practice that provides opportunities for students in local Clinical Psychology, Social Work and Counselling graduate schools to pursue practicum and internship placements with us.
We provide a wide range of services, including intervention for mental health concerns, sex therapy, couples therapy, psycho-diagnostic, psycho-educational, ASD, ADHD and WPATH assessments, as well as offering advanced/specialized treatment for PTSD. 
We have a warm and cooperative work environment characterized by a high degree of contact, connection and support amongst the team, and mentorship opportunities in various trauma modalities, such as EMDR and IFS (Internal Family Systems Therapy). 

Qualifications & Experience

• Doctoral degree (Psy.D. or Ph.D.) in Clinical, Counselling or a related psychology subspecialty (preferred)
• Master’s-level psychologists will also be considered.
• Eligible for licensure and credentialing as a Psychologist in Nova Scotia
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
o Psychological assessment, including planning, administration, and interpretation of neuropsychological measures, especially in the areas of Adult Psycho-diagnostic assessment; Adult &/or Child ASD Assessment; Adult &/or Child ADHD Assessment.
o Evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents
o Evidence-based treatment for adults
o Evidence-based Couples and/or family therapy


Responsibilities

Depending on your background and interests, your role may include any combination of the following:
• Performing testing intakes, planning assessment batteries, administering neuropsychological measures, conducting diagnostic interviews, interpreting data, writing comprehensive reports, providing feedback sessions, clarifying diagnoses, completing clinical documentation, and 
developing treatment plans
• Providing evidence-based outpatient psychological treatment for adults with a range of mental health concerns
• Providing evidence-based outpatient psychological treatment for children and adolescents
• Providing outpatient psychological treatment to couples and/or high conflict families using evidence-based approaches
